Corey Hevrin is a local Vermonter with roots going all the way back to the 1700s when his maternal grandparents’ ancestors settled in southern Vermont. Corey lives in Jericho, Vermont, where he also grew up, attended Mount Mansfield Union High School, and met his wife Megan Waite. They have four children: Aleacia, Logan, Sayah, and Pierce. They have an assortment of fish, a rescue cat named Hendrix, and a yard where most of the neighborhood kids come to play.

Corey graduated from St. Michael’s College with a degree in Psychology, with minors in History and Philosophy. During both high school and college, Corey enjoyed participating in sports, captaining his high school basketball and baseball teams to state championships in 1995, and captaining his college’s baseball team during his junior and senior years. During his four years on the team, the St. Michael’s baseball program had the best 4-year combined record in the history of the school! He loves to play baseball, basketball, football, and almost any other game - including pickleball - especially with his kids.

Corey carries his competitive spirit forward to working with his clients. His favorite part of the job is helping people “cross the finish line” to achieve financial freedom or reach retirement goals ahead of schedule.

In addition to coaching little league, basketball and soccer, Corey’s community involvement is extensive: he is a member of the Vermont leadership board and a regional board member for the American Lung Association. He is the supervisory committee chair for One Credit Union. He is a past president of his local BNI chapter, and a past board member of Make-A-Wish Vermont. Corey is also involved with the Epilepsy Center, ANEW Place, and numerous other local charities. Corey sees his work as a natural outgrowth of his desire to be an active and helpful member of his community.

At The Vermont Agency, Corey is part of a diverse group of advisors who collectively specialize in nearly all forms of financial planning, including group benefits, employer sponsored retirement plans, wealth management, estate planning strategies, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, life and disability insurance, and more. They utilize a shared intellectual property model so that any and all advisors can collectively participate in their clients’ success.

Corey offers his clients longevity, experience, and knowledge, and a commitment to being available for many years to come to help them meet their financial goals. “At 43 years of age, I have nearly 20 years of experience in this industry and I plan to work another 25 to 30 years in my business.”

When working with his clients, he puts his math background into action, helping people to be as efficient with their money as possible. Recently, when working with a couple in their early 50s, he was able to help them reorganize their finances and save about $2200 a month in expenditures – money they can now redirect toward enhancing their lifestyle and saving for retirement. He also puts his teaching background to use in his work. “I really enjoy providing education to clients which helps them find inefficiencies in their financials and then putting that money into reducing debt, increasing their savings, investments, or enhancing lifestyle. This is simply an amazing feeling.”

Corey particularly enjoys working with small business owners and families, helping them to plan for all the things they expect in life, and for the things they haven’t expected as well. “I’m available whenever clients need me, and for as long as they need me. Having been an athlete and a competitor my entire life, I only want to win and perform as excellently as possible for my clients.”

Cody Greene is a lifelong Vermonter and second-generation New York Life agent. He grew up in Essex, VT, the youngest of six children in his family. His father has been with New York Life for 36 years. “I was fortunate enough to grow up surrounded by this industry,” Cody tells us, and his education and experience so far has solidified his passion for helping people with their investments and insurance needs. After graduating with honors from Endicott College and completing an internship at New York Life Insurance in Boston, Cody returned to Vermont to begin his career. With two years of experience, he’s really enjoying his career choice so far and is looking forward to one day starting his own company. Cody has big plans for the future – both for himself and his clients.

When Cody’s not crunching numbers, he enjoys working out, playing disc golf, and skiing. He’s a big sports fan and one of his favorite annual traditions is taking a trip with his father to Texas to watch a Dallas Cowboys game – a tradition he hopes to continue into the future with his own children someday. He’s also looking forward to sharing his love of sports with the wider community by coaching youth football and basketball.

For Cody, one of the most rewarding and important parts of his job is spending time with people. He’s always been a “people person,” and is glad to be able to speak with so many different individuals from different stages of life, and to hear their viewpoints. Making a connection with his clients, understanding their perspectives, concerns, dreams, and goals, is important to Cody. That connection helps him better communicate the “whys” of what he does and ensures that he and his clients are working as a team toward a common goal.

Working with Cody provides clients a chance to establish a long term relationship with an agent who will be available for many years to come. “I plan on working in this industry for another 30+ years, so I am able to tell clients that I will personally be with them through multiple stages of their life.” Whether you’re planning to retire in the next decade or are just beginning to invest for the future, Cody can assure you he’s in it for the long haul.

While some might see his relative inexperience as a disadvantage, Cody sees it as an opportunity. He’s a “numbers guy” with an analytical mind, which helps him not only to visualize the big picture but also to recognize when he might not have all the facts at his fingertips. He’s not afraid to admit what he doesn’t know. He’s committed to lifelong learning and getting the right information for his clients. If he doesn’t have a ready answer, he’ll do the research, consult with his team, and make sure he’s providing you with the best possible information to help you make your critical financial decisions.

One of his biggest goals is to convince young adults to understand the importance of starting their financial endeavors at a young age. “While it may be tough to see money coming out of your bank account every month to fund an IRA or a long-term care plan, I know that the clients who listen to my advice and begin these plans will thank me down the road when their early planning pays off.” Cody wants to work with young families to help them plan for a long and prosperous future.

But Cody’s client focus isn’t exclusively on the young investor; the first designation he earned was CLTC – Certification in Long Term Care. Vermont’s population is, on the whole, an aging one, and Cody wanted to make sure he was well positioned to help older Vermonters as well as younger residents. “Long Term Care is a huge opportunity, I think, for people to protect themselves and to make sure that they get to keep that nest egg.”

Cody is able to work with clients to address a wide range of insurance and investment needs. He can help clients find the right life, long term care, and disability insurance products as well as provide help with retirement planning and overall wealth management, including annuity products and mutual funds.

If you’d like to learn more about Cody Greene and how he can help you pursue your financial goals, contact him for a consultation. He’s always interested in getting to know new people, and finding out if his energy and enthusiasm is a good fit for you and your insurance needs.
